The safety record, in full
Six years of it, including the years that were not clean. A firm that publishes only its best year is not a firm you should let review your safety-critical work.

Approximately 1.91 million man-hours over the six years. Two lost-time injuries, in 2015 and 2017. Approved on the common contractor prequalification systems over the period.
The phrase appears in a great deal of this industry's marketing, including some of this company's own historic material, and it is almost never literally true. Two people were hurt badly enough to lose time. The useful claims are the ones the table supports: a recordable frequency that fell as hours rose, near misses that were reported rather than buried, and a first-aid-to-medical-aid ratio that suggests people were putting small things on paper.
What we take from it into the advisory work
- Near-miss reporting is the leading indicator. A spread reporting no near misses is not a safe spread, it is a quiet one. We look at that ratio when we assess a contractor.
- Competence is a document. Every role on a drilling spread mapped against the tickets it requires, checked before mobilisation rather than asserted in a prequalification.
- Ground disturbance is where the serious harm is. Strikes on live facilities are the highest consequence event in this work, and they are prevented by locate diligence, computed separation and monitored anti-collision — not by toolbox talks.
- Environmental releases belong in the same system. An inadvertent return is an incident, is reportable, and is prevented by the same discipline that prevents the rest.
