We are a small practice and we work the way engineers ought to: a scope you can read in a paragraph, a deliverable you can hand to a regulator, and no open-ended hours.
Tell us the crossing
The feature, the pipe size and grade, the length, the ground if you know it, and the stage the project is at. A drawing helps, a geotechnical report helps more, neither is required.
The first read, at no charge
Within about a day you get a plain answer: straightforward, difficult, or move it. If it is straightforward we will say so even though that means less work for us.
A scope and a fee
One page. What we will look at, what you will receive, what it costs and when. Fixed fee wherever the scope allows it; a day rate where it genuinely cannot be bounded.
The work
Calculations, review notes, drawings, plans or field attendance, depending on the mandate. You see anything material as we find it, not in a reveal at the end.
The deliverable
A signed document written to be read by your regulator, your insurer and your contractor — with the calculations, the assumptions and the limitations all visible.
A defined review
A bore design, a means-and-methods review, an execution plan, an inspection and test plan, or a feasibility opinion on a named crossing. Priced as one number before we start.
Field attendance
Owner's representation and inspection, priced by the day plus travel and accommodation at cost. Mobilised against a written scope of authority — including whether we can stop a pull.
On call for a programme
For operators running a season of crossings: an agreed monthly amount that covers first reads, method statement reviews and telephone advice across the programme.
Claims and evidence
Instructed by counsel or an insurer, on their terms, at an hourly rate, with the independence declarations that role requires.
What you own at the end
You own the deliverable and everything in it: the calculations, the drawings, the plans and the review notes, to use, reissue and give to whomever you like, including a contractor bidding the work. We retain the right to use our own underlying methods, spreadsheets and templates on other projects, which is the only carve-out.
Confidentiality
We sign your non-disclosure agreement rather than asking you to sign ours. Client names, alignments, tenders and geotechnical data do not appear in our marketing, on this site or in conversation with another client — which is why the project descriptions on this site name the ground and the method but not the operator.
Insurance and qualification
Professional liability and commercial general liability are carried at limits appropriate to the mandate; certificates are issued on request before mobilisation. Where a deliverable requires an engineer's seal, it is sealed by a professional engineer licensed in the province the work is in, or we tell you plainly that it cannot be and why.
Specific limits of liability, insurance certificates, prequalification submissions and vendor-portal registrations are handled per engagement. Ask and we will send what your procurement process needs.
