Who we help

Contractors

We used to be you. This practice ran thirteen rigs and made most of the mistakes available in this trade, which is the only reason any of this is worth reading.

What contractors actually ask us for

A check before you price it

An independent read on whether the crossing is what the tender says it is, and where the risk actually sits. Cheaper than finding out at 400 m.

Engineering you do not carry in house

Pullback analysis, pressure envelope, fluid programme and a drill plan — produced to a standard that satisfies the owner's engineer without you employing one year-round.

A difficult bore

Long reach, congested corridor, marginal ground, intersect planning, or a profile someone else has designed that you do not believe.

A bore in trouble

Stuck string, lost returns, a hole that will not stay open, a pull approaching the limit. We will work it with you, on the phone or on site.

Documentation that wins work

Method statements, execution plans and ITPs that stand up to an owner's technical review — the thing that increasingly decides awards.

Equipment decisions

Whether to buy the machine, whether the package is complete, and what it will really cost to field. Equipment advisory →

Two things we will be straight about

First: we will not act for you on a project where we already act for the owner or the engineer, and we will tell you immediately if that is the case. Second: if we are the owner's representative on your job, we are not your consultant on it — we will be scrupulously fair and we will still stop the pull.
